Mexico City E-Prix 2023 Guide

Updated: May 27, 2023

This weekend will finally see the start of the new Formula E season and with it the start of the Gen3 era. Many new things await us this season, including the location of the first race: Mexico City.

Mexico City is opening the season for the very first time, and with that comes a certain responsibility.

Track information:

The Mexico E-Prix circuit (Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit) is 2.26km/1.6 miles long and has a race distance of nearly 59 miles. 41 laps are driven.

The Mexico E-Prix has been held since 2016 and has been raced every year since then (except 2021 due to Covid 19). The driver who has won the most times on this circuit is Lucas di Grassi with 2 wins.

Arrival:

It is probably easiest to reach the route by public transport, as there are several stations next to the route:

- "Ciudad Deportiva" (Line 9)

- "Velodromo station" (Line 9)

- "Puebla Station" (Line 9)

Parking your car at the track will also be possible, but not for free.

Event Schedule:

13.1.2023

16:25-17:15: Free Practice 1

14.1.2023

7:00: Opening

7:25-8:15: Free practice 2

9:40-10:55: Qualifying

11:30-12:15: Autograph & Pit Lane Walk (more information further below)

14:03 Race

Security:

You must go through a security check when entering the track/grandstands. Objects that are not allowed are getting removed there. These include your own food and drinks, as there are plenty of opportunities to get something to eat or drink at the track itself.

Payment:

All purchases must be made with a card. You cannot pay with cash.

Autograph Session and Pit Lane Walk:

To take part in the autograph session and the associated Pitlane Walk you need a wristband, which you can pick up at the Infopoint in the Allianz Fan Village. This is possible from 7:00 in the morning (first-come, first-serve).

Fan Village activities:

- Live music

- Gaming Arena

- Autograph session

- Kind's Area

- Food Court

- Entertainment

I hope this helped everyone who is planning on visiting the Mexico E-Prix and feel free to let me know about your experience there in the comments!!
